SHERLOCK HOLMES - A Game Of Shadows
With Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, Jared Harris, Noomi Rapace, Stephen Fry, Rachel McAdams
Written by Michele Mulroney, Kieran Mulroney (based on characters created by Arthur Conan Doyle)
Directed by Guy Ritchie
The eccentric, unpredictable, but highly attuned detective Sherlock Holmes returns to face his arch nemesis and polar opposite, the highly crafty and intelligent Moriarty. With his more level headed (and sane) partner Dr. Watson about to get married, murders and a plot involving heavy arms lead them on Moriarty's trail, a mission that could mean the end of them.
Ritchie again brings that gritty Victorian era to the screen in this follow-up, with a whole lot of plot convolution to keep you guessing, and enough big budget action and wild scenes to balance out the intellectual half.
Extra features look at the slow-motion Holmesavision camera effect (when he assesses a dangerous situation) and how to act upon it, as well as a piece on the Holmes / Watson chemistry, and more insight into Moriarty's mind.
